Bentleyville meeting on bicentennial

1 min read

The Bentleyville Bicentennial Committee will hold a kickoff meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the borough building to begin planning for the borough’s 200th anniversary in 2016.

Anyone who would like to participate in developing the event is welcome. The committee is seeking people interested in fundraising, event planning, technology development, publications, logistics and safety.

Bentleyville Borough was founded in 1816 by Sheshbazzar Bentley Jr., whose father patented the grounds in 1777 when he began grist mill operations along Pigeon Creek.
