Penn State Cooperative Extension to hold gardening seminar

Penn State Cooperative Extension will hold its 18th annual gardening seminar from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 2 at Trinity Middle School.

Mary Menniti will speak about the Italian Garden Project, providing glimpses into the past that can help create a more sustainable future.

Other workshops include Mushrooming in Western Pennsylvania, Rain Gardens, Digital Photography, Gardening for Wildlife, Trees, Wildflowers of Pennsylvania, CSA and Cooking with Spring Vegetables.

Exhibits on the Master Gardener program and gardening ideas also will be available, and there will be a garden flea market.

Soil test kits will be sold for $9.

Cost of the seminar is $15, and registration is advised by calling 724-627-3745.
