Giants Oaks club awards scholarships
Giant Oaks Garden Club recently awarded $1,000 scholarships each to Jon Charles Demi and Maurice Slinger.
Demi is a graduate of McGuffey High School and plans to major in environmental science at Ohio State University.
Slinger is a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School and plans to major in environmental science.
Winners were determined by academic achievement, with emphasis on science and mathematics courses; extra-curricular activities that relate to improving the environment; and letters of recommendation.
