Star parties planned at Mingo observatory
The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will hold free public star parties at 7 p.m. June 14 and 15 at Mingo Creek Park Observatory.
The parties will be held regardless of weather.
The planetarium schedule includes a sky show at 7 and 9 p.m., a presentation, “If Sherlock Holmes Observed Manmade Satellites,” at 9 and a movie, “Saturn: The Ring World,” at 10.
The night sky can be viewed through a 24-inch Ritchey-Chretien Reflector and 10-inch Refractor telescopes.
