Southwest Training offers mining camp
Southwest Training Services Inc., a service provider for the Southwest Corner Workforce Investment Board, along Penn State-Fayette, Westmoreland County Community College-Greene County and PA CareerLink Greene County, will hold a Mining Technology Camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through June 14 at Westmoreland County Community College-Greene County Education Center.
The camp is designed for students 16 to 19 years old and is open to high school teachers, guidance counselors and administrators. Act 48 credit will be provided for any educator, and first aid/CPR certifications will be offered for all who attend.
The camp will provide those who attend with information regarding the broad range of opportunities in energy- and extraction-based industries with an emphasis on workplace safety.
