Manure management workshop offered

1 min read

A free manure management manual workshop will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon July 20 at the Washington County Conservation District office, 2800 N. Main St., Suite 105, Washington.

All farms that generate or use manure must have a manure management plan. The conservation district can explain the new regulations and write a plan. The workshop will cover the revised manure management manual. Those who attend will receive a free copy of the updated manure management manual. One-on-one assistance also will be available.

There is no fee for the program, but registration is required by 4:30 p.m. July 5 by calling Steve at 724-705-7098 and or emailing your name, address, phone number and the number of people who plan to attend to sgilkinson@pawccd.org. A farm plan map is required the day of the workshop to complete the manual. Those who do not have a map can contact the conservation district.

Bring to the workshop a pencil, calculator and notebook for calculations. Those who have had a soil test completed within the past three years should bring the results.
