Wine, jazz festival at N. Strabane park
The Mental Health Association of Washington County will hold Wine, Jazz & Pops Festival III Aug. 3 and 4 at North Strabane Municipal Park.
Entertainment will feature local favorites plus national jazz recording artists. The Washington Symphony Orchestra and the Washington Jazz Orchestra will play Broadway tunes and classic jazz favorites. The Michael Passalacqua Blues Band also will perform.
This year’s headliners include national jazz recording artist Marion Meadows, who just released his 13th album, “Whispers.” The saxophonist will be joined by Washington native Will Brock on the keyboards Aug. 3.
On Aug. 4, Pittsburgh singer, songwriter and musician Bill Deasy will perform.
Cello Fury, Maureen Budway and Joy Ike also will entertain.
Eight wineries will provide free wine tastings, including Christian Klay Winery, The Winery at Wilcox, Greenhouse Winery, Courtyard Winery, Ripepi Winery, J&D Cellars, Thisthlewaite Vineyards and Kavic Wineries. There also will be food vendors and specialty craft booths. Tickets are available in advance for $20 for both days. Entrance fee at the gate is $25.
