College financial program
Peters Township Public Library will host a program to help parents understand their options and prepare to finance their child’s college education.
“Jump Start Your Child’s College Education” will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 16. Speakers will be Jayeann Harr, Higher Education Access Partner of Southwestern Pennsylvania Higher Education and Assistance Agency and David Dominick from the Pennsylvania Treasury Department.
The program is designed for parents of elementary and middle school students. A Pennsylvania 529 program specialist will explain how to save for college and on your income taxes; how to avoid paying any federal or state income taxes on college savings growth; and how to save for college with little impact on financial aid.
Registration is required by emailing programs@ptlibrary.org or calling the library at 724-941-9430.
