Health system recognizes volunteers

Washington Health System recently celebrated National Volunteer Week with a luncheon for volunteers at the DoubleTree by Hilton. “We’re Rolling Out the Red Carpet for You” was the theme.

Meg Steele, auxiliary president, presented Auxiliary’s Scholarship Awards to four junior volunteers, Rachel Betzner, Brittany McGary, Taylor Allen and Carlie Oros. Each received a $1,000 scholarship.

Steele also received a $10,000 award for her leadership and dedication to the auxiliary, and for her service to the Women’s Center and the Hospital Foundation.

Receiving 20-year pins were Connie Bristor, gift shop volunteer; Kathleen Cage, visitor’s information volunteer; and Pat Ferrari, gift shop register volunteer. A 40-year pin was presented to Virginia Adamsky for her service to the hospital, patients, families and staff.

Other’s receiving awards were: Nancy Wright, 9,000 hours; Ruth Ann Porter, 8,500; Elizabeth Sevec, 8,000; Fran Cicero and Inez Shriver, 7,500; Dolores Burhenn and Ruth Stein, 7,000; Janet Trozzi, 6,000; Lu McWreath, 5,500; Bette Johnson, Sue Pomykala and Mary Ann Stefan, 4,500; Pat O’Connor, Bonnie Patress and Jane Piatt, 4,000; Lynn Glover, Lou Marra, Ruth Miller and Phyliss Santee, 3,500; Janet Holmes, Mattie McKenzie and Susan Priest, 3,000; Jane Conway, 2,500; Edna Barnhart, Karen Belleville, Barb DeFurio, Dolores Hess, Carol Hissom, Della Hritsko, Dennis McWreath, Diane Meek, Pat Ondash and Barb Riffee, 1,500; and Bob Brosnahan, Marilyn McCullough, Ruth Miles, Phil Neubauer, Amy Rigal, Joyce, Robinson and Sue Rodgers, 1,000.
