Strickler – Cokley
Shawna Cokley and Michael Strickler were married September 21, 2013, in Trinity Methodist Church, McMurray, with the Rev. Mark Stewart officiating the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride’s parents are John and Cheryl Cokley of Canonsburg. Her grandparents are the late Frances and Catharine Cokley and the late Arnold and Marie Rubin.
Parents of the bridegroom are Millard Strickler and Cindy Strickler, both of Richmond, Va. His grandparents are Kathryn and Dudley Warren.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Maid of honor for her sister was Gwenna Cokley of South Park.
Bridesmaid was Amy Harris of Apex, N.C. Madeline Harris was flower girl.
Best man was Jeremy Snyder of Apex. Usher was Matthew Valentine of Fuquay Varina, N.C.
Readers were Gwenna Cokley and Jeremy Snyder.
Vocalist was Beth Peternal.
A reception was held at Southpointe Golf Club.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School; a 2003 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, earning a bachelor of science in meteorology; and a 2005 graduate of the University of Maryland, earning a master of science in meteorology. She is a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Raleigh, N.C.
Her husband is a 1999 graduate Mills Godwin High School and a 2005 graduate North Carolina State University, earning a bachelor of science in meteorology. He is a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Raleigh.
The newlyweds took a honeymoon trip to Aruba and make their home in Apex.
