Friend – 100 years
Pauline Friend of Scenery Hill will celebrate her 100th birthday an open house celebration at the Lone Pine social hall from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 23. It is requested that gifts be omitted.
She was born November 19, 1913, in West Bethlehem Township, Washington County.
On December 18, 1933, she married her husband, Ralph W. Friend.
She has five children, Shirley (the late Albert) Gallick of Washington, Richard Friend of Marianna, Edward (Phyllis) Friend of Marlton, N.J., Carol (Lee) Brewer of Scenery Hill and John (Marge) Friend of East Aurora, N.Y. Her grandchildren are Cheryl Rockovich, Jeff Friend, Jeaneen Thieroff, Denise DeJohn, Paula Hall, Edward Brewer, Paulajo Easterly, Jason Friend, Kiley Iams, the late Eugene Gallik and the late Douglas Gallik. She has 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed being involved in church activities and organizations and her hobbies are genealogy, crocheting and reading the Observer-Reporter.
