CAS offering adult education
Community Action Southwest is enrolling students into its Adult Education Program.
The program features a full schedule of classes in Greene and Washington counties.
Classes are taught every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Greene, Mon Valley and Washington CareerLink sites. Additionally, classes are offered Tuesdays in Carmichaels, Burgettstown and Washington and Thursdays in Waynesburg and Washington until 7 p.m.
The current version of the GED test will expire at the end of 2013. The current version, known as the 2002 Series GED test, will be replaced Jan. 2. Those who have taken the 2002 Series GED test, but have not passed all five parts, have until the end of 2013 to pass or they will need to start over again in 2014 with the new GED test.
Students in the Adult Education Program work with Pennsylvania-certified teachers to determine their weekly class schedule and are partnered with a trained case manager who will assist them with employment and/or enrolling in a trade school or college.
