Wargo – Marquis
Shady Elms Farm in Hickory was the site for the wedding of Katelyn Marquis and Nicholas Wargo, who were married August 10, 2013, with Dave Baker officiating the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride’s parents are James and Frances Marquis of Avella. Her grandparents are the late T. Milton and Thelma Marquis and the late Urson Sr. and Alberta McKee.
Randy and Diane Wargo of Avella are the bridegroom’s parents. His grandparents are Charles and Lola Kugel of Ohio, Catherine Bertovich of Pennsylvania and the late George Wargo Sr.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Maids of honor were Haileigh McGuire of Wexford, Caris Carper of Houston, Stacey Kaiser of Avella, sister of the groom; and Bonnie Burton of Carlisle.
Best man for his brother was Greg Wargo of Avella.
The new Mrs. Wargo is a 2008 graduate of Avella Junior/Senior High School and a 2012 graduate of Slippery Rock University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education/early childhood education. She is a substitute teacher and assistant tennis coach for Avella Jr./Sr. High School girls varsity tennis team.
Mr. Wargo is a 2007 graduate of Burgettstown Junior/Senior High School and a 2011 graduate of Slippery Rock University with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. He is a ticket operations assistant for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The newlyweds took a honeymoon trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
