Pajama Program names president
Washington County resident Erica Peterson recently was named chapter president of the Pajama Program, which provides new pajamas and new books to children in need.
She joins the nonprofit organization just as its One Million Good Nights campaign is in full swing. The campaign goal is to collect one million pairs of pajamas and one million books through Dec. 31, 2015, for children in need across the United States.
Peterson’s goals include locating “receiving organizations” where children in need are living, such as shelters and group homes, recruiting volunteers and organizing local pajama drives and events.
Since 2001, the Pajama Program helped more than 2,000,000 children nationwide.
