Daffodil gardens open to the public
Joe Hamm’s daffodil gardens, 99 Maple Road, just off Route 331, in Buffalo Village, are now open to the public.
In the fall of 2013, the American Daffodil Society recognized Hamm’s gardens as an ADS display garden. It is the only ADS display garden in Western Pennsylvania and shares this designation with only one other garden in the state: Longwood Gardens.
The gardens are open daily to tour throughout April. There are more than 62 beds of 2,000 different daffodil cultivars and more than 30,000 blooms in season.
The 2014 Daffodil Show will be held from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 26 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 27. ADS members and nonmembers are welcome to submit entries for the juried show, which has been approved by the American Daffodil Society. There also will be juried floral arrangements presented by the Martha Washington Garden Club.
