Cowen – 90 years
Dorothy Miklic Cowen of Spring Hill, Fla., will celebrate her 90th birthday with a family celebration in Homosassa, Fla., April 27, and with a card shower. Cards can be mailed to 10105 Jupiter Lane, Spring Hill, FL 34608.
She was born April 13, 1924, in Washington to Earl L. and Amelia Sconing Taylor.
On April 22, 1946, she married Ralph L. Miklic Sr., who died in 1996. In 1997, she married Chalmer E. Cowen.
Her children are Kathleen D. (Jim) Bock, Ralph L. (Rick) Miklic and David L. (Rita) Miklic and her stepchildren are Barbara (Tom) Hebert and the late Richard Cowen.
She has seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 13 step great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cowen graduated from Trinity High School in 1943 and worked at Bell Telephone as an operator for many years. She is a member of the Telephone Pioneers of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Cowen enjoyed designing and making quilts for her family and friends over the past 30 years. She also enjoys reading and raising orchids.
