Mahoney – Tonacchio
Alexis Tonacchio and Joseph Mahoney were united in marriage June 14, 2014, at Christ the Light of the World Roman Catholic Parish, with Father Dennis Colamarino officiating the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride’s parents are Domenick and Muriel Tonacchio of Weirton, W.Va. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Domenick Tonacchio Sr. of Weirton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mort.
Parents of the bridegroom are Charles “Chal” and Deborah Mahoney of Burgettstown. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Calvarese and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mahoney.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Maid of honor for her sister was Amber Tonacchio of Oakdale. Bridesmaids were Erin Tonacchio of Oakdale, sister of the bride; Emily Tonacchio of Weirton, sister of the bride; Nicole Corwell of Oakdale, cousin of the bride; Briana Rasicci of Imperial; Marissa Kotouch of Jupiter, Fla.; and Maegan Hatala of Oakdale.
Flower girls were Sophia Kostraba, cousin of the bride, and Kennedy Mahoney, cousin of the groom.
Peter Rivetti of Coraopolis served as best man.
Ushers were Matthew Barletta of Coraopolis; Ryan Mahoney of McDonald, cousin of the groom; Frank Flora of Weirton, cousin of the bride; Michael Blasinsky of Carmichaels; David Ericson of Alexandria, Va.; Ronald Kotouch of Jupiter; and Matthew Steele of Dubois.
Ring bearers were Liam Kotouch and Joseph Stephenson, godsons of the groom.
Readers were Adrianna Kruse, cousin of the bride, and Michelle Rivetti.
Vocalist was Laura Barletta.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Weir High School and a 2008 graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of science degree in speech language pathology. In 2012, she graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a master of education in early childhood education with a reading endorsement. She teaches third grade in Steubenville, Ohio, city schools.
Mr. Mahoney is a 2004 graduate of Weir High School and a 2008 graduate of Duquesne University with a bachelor of arts in psychology and English. In 2010, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a master of social work, with a specialization in mental health. He is the supervisor of mental health programs for Intermediate Unit 1, serving Washington, Greene and Fayette counties.
A reception was held in Embassy Suites, Coraopolis.
The couple honeymooned at Sandals Grande in Antigua.
