Pooch Parade will aid MGA
The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania will hold its sixth annual Pooch Parade Oct. 26 at South Park.
The family-friendly event features a one-mile fun walk on a paved trail beginning at the Dog Park at South Park. All registered participants will receive morning refreshments, a tote bag of goodies, a T-shirt and bandanas for their dogs.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., and the parade starts at 10. Walkers without dogs also are welcome.
The event features a costume contest with prizes for best dog and best dog/owner combination costumes, as well as prizes for top individual and team fundraisers. There will be free Halloween candy for youngsters and raffles of gift baskets and silent auctions, including Steelers tickets and a Myrtle Beach vacation. A variety of vendors will provide information and products, including the “Ask-the-Vet” booth hosted by Dr. Marina Siegert of Bethel Park Animal Clinic. Bring used eyeglasses to the Upper St. Clair Lions Club booth.
Proceeds will benefit the Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western Pennsylvania, a private, nonprofit that provides treatment and free support services to those with myasthenia gravis, a chronic autoimmune muscle weakness disorder.
