Athletes of the Month recognized

Washington Health System recently recognized the October Coach of the Month and October Student-Athletes of the Month. They are: • Mike Bosnic, football coach at Washington High School. Bosnic has led the Little Prexies to the WPIAL playoffs five of the last six years and to the semifinals for the second time in three years He also coached four Division I players in the past six years. • Tajah Haley, volleyball player at Washington High School. Haley also is a member of the basketball and track teams. Her academic excellence is exhibited by a weighted cumulative 3.86 grade-point average and class rank of 17 out of 107. She also is recognized for her leadership qualities and willingness to volunteer with activities at school. • Ben Heim, cross country runner at Washington High School. Heim also participates in track and marching band. His academic excellence is exhibited by a weighted cumulative 4.03 grade-point average and class rank of five out of 109. As a freshman last year, Heim was the leadoff runner of the Class AA 4-by-800 gold medal relay team. He also medaled in the Washington County Coaches Meet, placed in the top 20 at the WPIAL championships and competed at the PIAA state championships in Hershey.
