PT library to host program on national security

Peters Township Public Library will hold a program on national security challenges from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 28.

Experts from the U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps will discuss “National Security Challenges in 2014 and Beyond.” Panelists will discuss the growth of nuclear weapons in the 21st century, the influence of religious issues and conflicts on joint operations, the responsibility to protect doctrine and the challenge it poses to upholding state sovereignty, the future of the United States’ position in the Middle East and the war against al-Qaida.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 764 in McMurray is providing financial support for this program. The program is hosted by the library in partnership with the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh.
