Morgan Blumer graduated magna cum laude from Waynesburg University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration. She has accepted a position with the Fairfax County Police Department in Fairfax, Va. Blumer is a 2010 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are Nicklous and Mary Rossi Blumer.
Jordan Brooks, son of Carl and Valerie Brooks of Waynesburg, graduated magna cum laude from California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of arts degree in theater. He was treasurer of the Beta Omicron cast of Alpha Psi Omega, a national honorary theater fraternity, and starred in the university’s spring production of “The 39 Steps.” He also was on the dean’s list every semester. Brooks is a 2010 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School and is employed by Child First.
Caitlin Brosnahan was named to the dean’s list for the second consecutive semester at West Liberty University, where she is majoring in marketing.Brosnahan is a 2013 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Wheeling, W.Va., and her parents are Sean and Julianne Brosnahan of Washington.
Dr. Alan Casciola graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, W.Va. He completed rotations in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology, but focused in general and specialized surgery with multiple rotations at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, W.Va., and McLaren Hospital in Lansing, Mich. Casciola has accepted a general surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic, which will begin July 1. It will take five years to complete a plastic surgery fellowship. His parents are Tom and Lynn Casciola of Cecil.
Alexander Dunaway graduated summa cum laude from Geneva College with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. He was a member of Alpha Chi National Honor Society ASME and was named to the dean’s list. He received the Mechanical Engineering Award, presented by the Department of Engineering and Computer Science to the most outstanding student in mechanical engineering based on grade-point average, character and leadership. Dunaway is a 2010 graduate of McGuffey High School, and his parents are Charles and Doris Dunaway of Washington.
Erik Capra, son of Jim and Cindy Capra of Washington, was named to the dean’s list at Kent State University, where he is majoring in architecture. He is a member of the American Institute of Architecture and was named to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Capra is a 2013 graduate of McGuffey High School.
Lindsay Knowlson, daughter of Keith and Grace Knowlson of Washington, was named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average for the second consecutive semester at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she is majoring in nursing. Knowlson is a member of the academic nursing fraternity Alpha Tau Delta. She is a 2013 graduate of Trinity High School and is employed as a lifeguard at Colonial Woods pool.
Alyssa Moon graduated from Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy with a doctor of pharmacy. She is a 2008 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are Kenneth and Debra Moon of Washington. Moon has accepted a pharmacist position with CVS Pharmacy in Maryland.
Erica Sapic graduated with honors from Penn Commercial Business and Technical School, where she earned an associate degree in medical office administration. Sapic is a 2012 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are Ken Sapic and Kim Sapic, both of Washington. She is employed by Braughler’s Dairy Queen in Washington.
Meagan Slates graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor of science in agricultural and extension education. She was president of Alpha Tau Alpha, a national professional honorary agricultural education organization, and the Teach Ag Society. She also was a member of Alpha Zeta, a national agricultural honorary, the Coaly Society and Ag Avenger Society. Slates is a 2009 graduate of Fort Cherry High School, and her parents are David and Denise Slates of McDonald. She has accepted a teaching position with the Penn Manor School District in Lancaster.
