Desmond – Oliver
Nicole Oliver and Samuel Desmond III were united in marriage May 25, 2014, in All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Canonsburg, with Father George Livanos officiating the 2:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride’s parents are Larry and Pia Oliver of Washington. Her grandparents are the late Lloyd and Dorothy Oliver and the late John and Ann Contorakes.
Parents of the bridegroom are Samuel Jr. and Dottie Desmond of Washington. His grandparents are the late Samuel and Francesca Desmond and the late John and Katherine Ullom.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Matrons of honor were Kim Mankey of Marianna and Tabitha Rumbaugh of Picayune, Miss. Bridesmaids were Leah Leichty of Bentleyville, Adrienne Helmick of Washington, Stephanie Holland of Washington, Mary Beth Craig of Avella, sister of the groom; Tracy Desmond of Claysville, sister-in-law of the groom; and Sarah Haines of Claysville, Koumbara and goddaughter of bride. Flower girl was Mackenzie Mankey.
Best man for his brother was Derek Desmond of Claysville. Ushers were Paul Falso of Grove City, Nathan Leichty of Bentleyville, Jimmy Paul Desmond of Washington, cousin of the groom; Brandon Cramer of Washington, cousin of the groom; Marc Felice of Denver, Colo., Raymond McKinney of Washington and Luke Desmond of Claysville, nephew of the groom. Ring bearer was Tristan Rumbaugh.
A reception was held at the George Washington Hotel.
The new Mrs. Desmond is a 2000 graduate of Trinity High School; a 2005 graduate of Waynesburg College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration; and a 2008 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a master of science degree in business. She is a national account manager for Align Networks.
Mr. Desmond is a 2001 graduate of Trinity High School and a 2009 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in business information systems. He is a material control specialist for Williams Companies.
The newlyweds took a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia and make their home in Washington.
