Washington Financial scholarship recipients
Washington Financial recently awarded 10 scholarships to help local students through the Washington Financial Charitable Foundation. Since the inception of the Scholarship Fund Program, more than $481,000 in scholarships has been awarded to area students.
This year’s recipients are:
Savannah Ammons, a graduate of Washington High School. She volunteers with the National Honor Society and TWIST, where she coaches a girls softball team. Ammons plans to study accounting at Washington & Jefferson College.
Andrew J. Grosso, a graduate of Peters Township High School. Through the St. Benedict the Abbot Church, Grosso has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the soup kitchen and Villa Maria Farms. He plans to study aerospace engineering at Virginia Tech.
Alexa Kostyak, a graduate of Trinity High School. She is a junior volunteer at Washington Hospital and also donates her time at the Greater Pittsburgh Area Food Bank, S.A.D.D. and the Washington Area Humane Society. Kostyak plans to study chemistry/pre-medicine at Washington & Jefferson College.
Kaitlin McCracken, a graduate of Bishop Canevin High School. She volunteered more than 300 hours as a junior volunteer at Washington Hospital. McCracken plans to study mathematics at Washington & Jefferson College.
Kyle Gregory Mottola, a graduate of Peters Township High School. Mottola is a member of the Boy Scouts of America, National Honor Society and Bridgeville Brass. He plans to study engineering at the University of Dayton.
Rachel Rozak, a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School. Rozak is a candy striper at Canonsburg General Hospital and serves dinners at St. Patrick Parish. Rozak plans to study pre-physical therapy at the University of Pittsburgh.
Amy Russell, a graduate of McGuffey High School. She volunteers at the Synergy School of Artistic Dance by Roz as a Synergy Sidekick. Russell plans to study dance at Western Michigan University.
Haley Sutton, a graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School. She volunteers as a chemistry and math tutor, and donates her time at Horses with Hope, a therapeutic riding program. She plans to study equine medicine at Otterbein University.
Antonio “Tug” Tatano, a graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School. He volunteers with student government, Relay for Life, Leo Club, National Honor Society and S.A.D.D. Tatano plans to attend Penn State University.
Olivia Vanistendael, a graduate of Peters Township High School. She is involved with the National Honor Society and Girl Scouts of America. Vanistendael plans to study engineering at North Carolina State University.
