An Ash Wednesday service will be held at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 430 W. Main St., Monongahela, with the Rev. Gerald Demarest officiating.
Mary and Martha Joy Fellowship of Mononghela will hold its monthly meeting of praise and worship at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Monongahela, corner of Sixth, Chess and Main streets. Fellowship with refreshments is at 6:30 p.m. The Rev. Georgia Morris, assistant director of Marilynn J. David Christian Seminars International Ministry, will speak. Amwell Township Historical Society will hold its first meeting of the year at 7 p.m. Monday at Amwell Township Community Building. The executive board will meet at 6:15 p.m. Clay Kilgore will speak on “Tracing Braddock’s Expedition.” Fees for 2014 are now due.
Terrific Trees, a free homeschool outdoor classroom for children ages 5 to 11, will be held March 13 at Mingo Creek Park, Shelter 6. Sessions are available at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. This is an outdoor program; dress appropriately. Registration is required; calling Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation at 724-228-6867.
