1 min read

Dr. Karen Kosiba, an atmospheric scientist, will present her research on tornadoes, hurricanes and lake-effect snow at 11 a.m. March 25 in Eberly Hall, room 120, as part of the meteorology club’s Colloquia Series at California University of Pennsylvania.

Kosiba, who has been featured on the Discovery Channel’s “Storm Chasers” series, focuses her research on low-level wind structure in tornadoes, supercell storm dynamics and the boundary-layer winds in hurricanes.

She has participated in many field projects, including the Radar Observations of Tornadoes and Thunderstorms Experiment, Verification of Rotation in Thunderstorms Experiment, Long Lake-Axis-Parallel Lake-Effect Storms Project, Hurricanes and Landfall and Convectively and Orographically-Induced Precipitation Study.
