AFSCME Retired Chapter 13, Subchapter 8402, will meet at 1 p.m. Oct. 14 at Frank Sarris Public Library, 35 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg. Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month except for January and February. Claysville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold its annual card party at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at Claysville fire hall. Doors open at 5, and a drawing will be held at 8:30. Waynesburg American Legion Post 330 will host a live performance by Vespryo Records artist Ray Red at 8 p.m. Oct. 18. Red, from Byron Bay, Australia, is touring small towns in the United States and Canada.
Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church, 45 Church Road, Eighty Four, will hold a ham and turkey supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 18. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and younger. South Hills Art League will meet Oct. 20 at Unitarian Universalist Church of the South Hills, 1240 Washington Road, Pittsburgh. Refreshments will be served at 7:30 p.m., followed by a brief business meeting at 7:45 and the program featuring Phil Wilson, who has more than 40 years of professional experience in both the animation and illustration fields. He has created animation for two half-hour television specials, music videos, TV commercials and feature films. He has illustrated more than 60 children’s books, plus video/DVD package art, Disney collector’s art plates, jigsaw puzzles, greeting cards, magazines, posters, billboards and advertising art.
