California University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Art and Design is sponsoring a non-toxic saltwater etching technique workshop today and Wednesday in Coover Hall’s jewelry studio, rooms 7 and 8. Funded through a grant from the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, the workshop is free and open to the Cal U community and general public. Sessions run from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday. For more information or to reserve a spot in the workshop, email Bove’ at bove@calu.edu.
Washington Camera Club will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 in Courthouse Square, Room 104. “Digital Gallery” will be the featured program. Members are requested to submit four images on a flash drive for a critique session.
Catholic Charities’ Washington County office is in need of volunteers to help with the 2014 Angel Tree Outreach. The program provides area children and elderly or disabled adults in need with Christmas gifts. Volunteers are needed September through December at Catholic Charities’ office, 331 S. Main St., Monday through Thursday to assist with mailings, phone calls, wrapping, sorting and distribution of gifts. For more information, call 724-228-7722.
