In an effort to join the battle against childhood cancer, Taylor Santek, a fifth-grader at Fort Cherry Elementary Center, will host an Alex’s Lemonade Stand from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday outside Knuckleheads Pizza, 216 Dickson St., Midway.
Dance With Me by Sisters 3 competition team will hold a spaghetti dinner from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Alpine Club, 735 Jefferson Ave., Washington. Cost is $8. Dinner includes a drink and dessert. There will be a Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle. Takeout will be available. For more information, call 724-255-0788.
A free concert will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Washington SDA Church, 901 N. Main St. Folk Mountain Gospel will perform, incorporating many traditional and Biblical instruments.
Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will hold an “Owl Prowl” night hike at 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at Mingo Creek County Park. Reservations are required by calling 724-228-6867.
Peters Township Mighty Indian Marching Band will host its annual band festival at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at Peters Township High School stadium, 264 E. McMurray Road. Bands participating include Charleroi, Chartiers Valley, Northgate, South Allegheny, West Greene and Peters Township. The Peters Township high school choirs will provide vocal selections. Tickets will be sold at the gate. Adult admission is $6 and student/senior citizen admission is $4. Concession stands will be open.
National Parkinson’s Foundation’s Moving Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 27 at Highland Park Reservoir, Pittsburgh. The foundation will provide education and resources about Parkinson’s-related treatment.
Cokeburg Presbyterian Church, 100 Washington St., will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner from 1 to 6 p.m. Sept. 30. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12. Bridgeville Area Historical Society will hold a program, “Love Beyond Measures: Memoirs of a Korean War Bride” by Katie Schell and Ock Soon Lee at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in the Chartiers Room at Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department.
