Folk Mountain Gospel will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Washington Seventh-day Adventist Church, 901 N. Main St. A love offering will be accepted, and CDs, DVDs and hand-crafted biblical musical instruments will be for sale.
Bob’s Battle spaghetti dinner and dance to benefit Robert Peteristis, who is battling liver cancer, will be held Saturday at Clarksville Fire Department. Dinner will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., and the dance, featuring Saddle Up, will begin at 8 p.m. There also will be raffles and a 50/50 drawing. Adult presale tickets are $10. Tickets are $12 at the door. Children 12 and younger are half price. Children 5 and younger are free. National Alliance on Mental Illness will hold its first family-to-family education program from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Greene County Education Center of Westmoreland County Community College, 100 EverGreene Drive, Room 4, Waynesburg. The course is designed to help family members and friends understand and support the mentally ill while maintaining their own well-being. Twelve sessions will be taught over eight weeks.
