MVH to host symposium on infectious diseases

This annual event is designed as an update for physicians, nurses and other health-care professionals in the prevention, diagnosis and management of infectious diseases. Physicians can earn five American Medical Association Physician’s Recognition Award Category 1 credits and MVH will provide 5 continuing education credits for nurses.
Upon completion of the program, participants should be able to:
• Identify new and cutting-edge management strategies for Hepatitis C
• Discuss the physician’s role in the prevention and treatment of surgical site infections
• Discuss the physician’s role in appropriate antibiotic usage and prevention of antibiotic resistance
• Describe challenges in following national protocols for diagnosis and management of sepsis
• Identify techniques to enhance communication among physicians and the health care team
