The Literacy Council of Southwestern Pennsylvania is moving to Fairhill Manor Christian Church, 351 Montgomery Ave., Washington, beginning Wednesday. Free English as a Second Language classes are offered on Wednesdays at the church and Tuesdays at Frank Sarris Public Library in Canonsburg. Volunteer tutors are needed. Genealogy Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania and Kimberly T. Powell will present “Beginning African-American Research” at 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at Citizens Library, 55 S. College St., Washington.

Washington Camera Club will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 in Room 104, Courthouse Square. The program will be a “Print Gallery.” Members should bring four prints for a critique session.
