Mary and Martha Joy Fellowship of Monongahela invites people of all denominations to its monthly meeting of praise and worship Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Monongahela, corner of Sixth, Main and Chess streets. Fellowship and refreshments begin at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7. There is no charge; a freewill offering will be taken. Entef from Chess Street and go up the steps to the parlor on the main floor. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Shelia Davis.
Wheeling Civic Garden Center, Oglebay Park, Wheeling, W.Va., will hold its spring open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Samples of cheeseball mixes and dips will be provided. Anyone making a purchase will be entered for a chance to win a door prize.
Calvary Baptist Church, 1701 Ridgewood Drive, Washington will hold a “Bid 2 Send Missions” auction at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. There will be Chinese, live and silent auctions. Cookies and beverages will be provided. Admission is free. Proceeds benefit mission trips.
American Legion Post 175, 168 Park Ave., Washington, will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $5 and will benefit the Sons of the Legion.
Amwell Township Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in Amwell Township Community Building. Thad Swestyn will present a program on surveying and genealogy in Washington County.

Garden Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Laboratory Presbyterian Church, 33 Manse St. Washington. David McKibben of the Pittsburgh Rose Society will explain the care and pruning of roses. There also will be a seed and plant exchange. Bring some to share.
AFSCME Retired Chapter 13 sub-chapter 8402 will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Frank Sarris Public Library, 35 North Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg. Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month except during January and February. All state retired employees are welcome.

Center United Presbyterian Church, 110 Washington Ave., Midway, will host the Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers April 26. A light sandwich and salad fellowship will begin at 3 p.m., with JFS performing at 4. The JFS are a modern Appalachian-style acoustic band with roots in bluegrass, country, old-time and swing. Admission is free. A love offering will be collected for the band.
