The Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates will present a program on flag etiquette at the Charleroi Area Historical Society meeting at 7 p.m. May 18 in the Riverside Room at the SPHS building, 301 Plaza Drive.

Barry Anders, executive officer of the Shipmates, said the Shipmates have made this presentation to school students, primarily fifth-graders, as well as amany adult organizations. The presentation lasts about 40 minutes and includes information on such things as how the flag got its colors and symbols, what the flag code says and the proper way to fold the flag.

There also will be time for questions and more discussion, and light refreshments will be served.
