Washington County Historical Society to honor six at banquet

Washington County Historical Society will hold its second annual History Hall of Fame Awards Banquet May 30 in the Rosin Ballroom at Washington & Jefferson College.

The VIP reception will begin at 6:15 p.m., and dinner will begin at 7.

Six honorees will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. They are:

• Harriet Branton, county historian and author;

• Sara Foster Hanna, longtime president of the Washington Female Seminary;

• Charles Keller, lawyer and former president of Rotary International;

• Dr. Francis LeMoyne, doctor, abolitionist, innovator and philanthropist;

• Albert Miller,historical preservationist and founder of Meadowcroft;

• J. Barry Stout, former senator who during his tenure was responsible for helping to develop and expand Washington County.

Tickets are $100 per person, and sponsorship options are available.
