Big Brothers plans recognition dinner
Ten graduating seniors will be honored at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh’s annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Rodef Shalom Temple.
“Saying goodbye is difficult, but it’s with pride in how they’ve grown in Big Brothers Big Sisters that we see these youth off to reach new goals,” said Jan Glick, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh.
The formerly at-risk youth will be pursuing college degrees, enrolling in trade schools and seeking employment.
Also, in recognition of Volunteer Appreciation Month, BBBS will honor Robert Nelkin, president and chief professional officer of the United Way of Allegheny County, and speaker of the state House of Representatives Mike Turzai, R-28th District, for their support.
