Butterfly walk at Mingo Creek park

The Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation, Monica Miller and Curt Lehman will explore the “World of Butterflies” at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mingo Creek County Park.

They will share information the life histories and habitat preferences of butterflies found in Washington County.

Participants are asked to meet in the parking lot near Shelter 1.

The program is free, but reservations are required and can be made by calling the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation at 724-228-6867.

A limited number of butterfly nets and collecting jars will be available. Dress for light hiking, bring a bottle of water and wear a hat.
