Extension offering food handler training
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, licensed food establishments must employ one supervisory employee who has successfully completed a food safety training class.
To help food establishments meet this requirement, Penn State Extension is offering a Food Safety Training Course from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 24 and 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 31 at the Washington County Penn State Extension Office in Washington. The examination will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 31.
Course fee of $175 per person covers the cost of the ServSafe course book, instructional materials and refreshment breaks. For more information or for a brochure, call the Penn State Extension Office in Westmoreland County at 724-837-1402.
