1 min read

The National Road Heritage Corridor will hold its 10th annual Frontier Dinner Aug. 28 at Christian Klay Winery in Chalk Hill.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with the starters, followed by dinner, wine and beer at 6:45. Chef Joe Carei will prepare a five-course gourmet meal that will feature dishes for vegetarians, meat lovers and wild-game foodies. Main courses include Cider Braised Pulled Pork, Chicken Pot Pie, Hoppin’ John Laurel Hill Trout, Orzo with Spinach & Tomatoes and Late Harvest Grilled Vegetables.

“As always, Joe has built his menu around products and raw ingredients that can be purchased locally,” said Sandy Mansmann, NRHC

board chairwoman.

In addition, music will be provided by Abacus Jones Acoustics, and there will be a historic whiskey tasting with the 1st Virginia Regiment at their Bloody Dirk 18th Century Tavern, a bonfire and silent and Chinese auctions.

Guests also can indulge in candies from Firefly Chocolates, a chair massage by Everyday Therapeutics Massage and cigars from Leaning House Cigars.

Tickets are $75 per person and must be purchased in advance by calling 724-437-9877 or emailing debbies@nationalroadpa.org. Reserved seating will be available.
