(PIX-Tirimacco) Canonsburg Business and Professional Women recently presented their 2015 Woman of the Year Award to Kathy Tirimacco. She has been an active member of the Canonsburg BPW since 2000. Tirimacco received her R.N. Degree from Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing and also attended Seton Hill University in conjunction with her pre-clinical studies. She received a bachelor of science degree in education from California University of Pennsylvania with certification in public school nursing. In her career, Tirimacco has worked at Pittsburgh hospitals, Georgetown University, Visiting Nurses Association of Washington, D.C., United Cerebral Palsy of SWPA, Visiting Nurses Association of Washington County and Director of Utilization Management and Case Management at a local Hospital. She is also a member of the Pittsburgh Hospital Nurses Alumnae Association, and she received their Honorary Recognition Award in 2011. Upon retirement, Tirimacco trained and became a volunteer with Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern Pennsylvania. She also has volunteered at Frank Sarris Public Library.
