Medicare 101 to be discussed at Peters Twp. library

1 min read

Peters Township Public Library will host Medicare 101 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 17.

Adele Dean, regional APPRISE coordinator, will provide information on Medicare and the APPRISE program.

Dean’s presentation will review both the Medicare and APPRISE programs with handouts, and New to Medicare packets will be available. She will screen participants for assistance programs, such as PACE/PACENET, Extra Help and the Medicare Savings Program. The session will provide detailed information about Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period.

Medicare continues to provide benefits for people 65 and older, people under 65 with certain disabilities and people of any age with end-stage renal disease and permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant. APPRISE is a free health insurance counseling program designed to help older Pennsylvanians with Medicare.

The program is free, but registration is required by emailing programs@ptlibrary.org or calling 724-941-9430.
