Cross Creek County Park will hold a program on discovering the diversity of musical insects at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 3 at Shelter 3. Learn how crickets, grasshoppers and katydids create sounds. Sweep nets and bug jars will be provided to search for musical insects in a nearby meadow. Long pants, shoes that cover your feet and long sleeve shirts are recommended. There is no fee for this program. Registration is required and can be made by calling Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation at 724-228-6867.
The Walk and Talk program at Mingo Creek County Park will be offered the first Thursday of each month until November. The group will meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 3 at Shelter 1. Dress for the weather and light walking. There is no fee for the program. Registration is required and can be made by calling the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation at 724-228-6867.
Fredericktown Methodist Church will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 4 and 5.
South Hills Art League members will present the “Small Works” exhibit and sale Sept. 7 through Oct. 29 at St. Clair Hospital, 1000 Bower Hill Road, Mt. Lebanon.
