Students featured in WSO concert

1 min read

When members of the Washington Symphony Orchestra take the stage for their “Love Hurts” concert Saturday at Trinity High School, they will be joined by area high school students.

Each year, the WSO sponsors a side-by-side program, whereby students have the opportunity to perform alongside principal players in the orchestra.

This year’s young musicians include violinists Adam Joseph Ballato, Cheri Collins and Lauren Estermyer of Moon; clarinetist Ali Jackson of Washington; bass clarinetist Meghan Johnson of Upper St Clair; and violinists Pratiik Kaushik and Mila Shadel and violist Mekna Nair of Peters Township.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at washsym.org, by calling 888-71-TICKETS or at the following locations: Washington Financial branch locations, Citizens Library and Peters Township Public Library.

The symphony’s side-by-side program is offered each season during the February concert.
