Sims – 91 years
Paul Sims of Marianna celebrated his 91st birthday February 11.
He was born February 11, 1924.
Mr. Sims met his future wife, Rosemarie, on a blind date.
They were married Nov. 16, 1946, which he said was the best year of his life. Mrs. Sims and their daughter, Christine, died of cancer in 2008, which Mr. Sims said was the worst year of his life. He and Rosemarie were married for 62 years.
In addition to his late daughter, he has two children, Paula and David.
Mr. Sims is a U.S. Army veteran, and he attended school to train horses. He and his wife raised and trained German shepherds and show horses.
