Home Instead Senior Care will offer Alzheimer’s and dementia family education workshops from 6 to 8:30 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of every month, Jan. 27 to April 28 at its Bethel Park office, 1500 Oxford Drive.

The workshop will provide the participants with information and resources on the following topics:

• Alzheimer ‘s Disease or Other Dementias – focus is on the causes, recognizing the symptoms and understanding behaviors;

• Capturing Life’s Journey – focus will be on techniques that can be used to encourage loved ones to share their stories and memories;

• Techniques to Handle Challenging Behaviors – presentation will include determining what techniques work best to manage different types of behavior;

• Activities to Encourage Engagement – focus will be on activities for the mind, body and soul, including those that are suitable for moderate to late stage Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia, to stimulate loved ones’ five senses.
