Experts to discuss national security issues
Peters Township Public Library, in partnership with the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, will host seven panelists from the U.S. Army War College for “A Look at National Security in 2015: Global Issues Impacting the United States” at 7 p.m. Feb. 10.
Russia, China, terrorist organizations and budgetary concerns are just a few of the challenges facing the U.S. military. A team of experts will share personal views based on their own experience, research and reflection. Presenters and their topics include:
• Col. Paul Cravey, Army – Unmanned Aerial Systems Operations;
• Col. Frank Harrar, Marine Corps – Building Partner Capacity in Afghanistan;
• Merissa Larson, civilian, Navy – The Ebola Outbreak: Department of Defense Response;
• Col. Silas Martinez, Army – The U.S. Military Rebalance to the Pacific;
• Col. Willie Nuckols, Army – U.S. Strategy Addressing Russian Expansion;
• Lt. Col. Warren L. Wells, Army – American Military Commissions Past and Present;
• Col. Chuck Worshim, Army – The Evolution of U.S. Ballistic Missile Defense.
