Calvert – 80 years
Edna Mae Shape Calvert of Claysville will celebrate her 80th birthday with an open house from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Claysville Christian Church, where a light meal will be provided.
She was born Feb. 1, 1935, in Washington County.
Her husband is the late William Calvert.
She has two children, Diane Calvert Nagy of Washington and Larry Calvert of Washington.
Her grandchildren are Lawrence Calvert, Tabitha Rumbaugh and Charity Nagy. She has four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Calvert enjoys flower gardening, walking and baking. Her apple pies have a reputation of being the best in the area. She also enjoys spending time with special friend Ferris Davis, square dancing and singing and enjoying music at local nursing homes. She is active with Sisters in Christ Bible study group, a volunteer at Claysville Food Pantry and is on the Jordan One Room School Committee.
She was a housewife, a housekeeper for several different area families and worked for Allison’s Bakery many years ago.
