Cortese – Veltri
Samantha Leigh Veltri and Donald Guy Cortese were united in marriage September 20, 2014, at Oglebay Resort, Wheeling, W.Va., with the Rev. Bob Wilits officiating the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride’s parents are Salvatore and Janis Veltri of Washington. Her grandparents are Julietta Veltri of Washington, the late Pietro Veltri, Louise Martin of Washington and the late John Martin.
Parents of the bridegroom are Donald and Denise Cortese of Houston. His grandparents are Fran Whitfield of Houston, the late Amos Whitfield and the late Guy and Rose Cortese.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Matron of honor was Kimberly Veltri of Washington, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Aimee Trunzo of Houston, sister of the groom; Francesca Cortese of Houston, sister of the groom; Valerie Kaufman of Washington; Erin Sabatini of Bridgeville; Angelina Allen of New Cumberland, W.Va.; Kathryn Russell of Pittsburgh; and Abbey Wright of Washington.
Flower girl was Amelia Veltri, niece of the bride.
Best man was Matthew Rosemeier of Canonsburg. Ushers were Peter Veltri of Washington, brother of the bride; Justin Trunzo of Houston, brother-in-law of the groom; Julien Veltri of Washington, cousin of the bride; Michael Sabatini of Bridgeville; Eric Biel of Pittsburgh; Nico Veltri of Washington, cousin of the bride; and Joshua Bradley of Houston.
Ring bearers were Samuel and Elijah Lounder, nephews of the groom.
Readers were Kimber Veltri, cousin of the bride, and Lindsay Benzenhoefer.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Trinity High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She is employed at Veltri Cleaners in Washington.
Mr. Cortese is a 2004 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He is a mechanical engineer at Caterpillar Inc., Houston.
A reception was held at the Glessner Ballroom, Wilson Lodge, Oglebay Resort.
The couple honeymooned in Venice, Florence and Rome, Italy.
They reside in North Franklin Township.
