Heritage Day at the Bradford House, 175 S. Main St., Washington, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with free admission. The museum will be open for self-guided tours with docents in period attire available to answer questions. Demonstrations of 18th century living, such as rug hooking and hearth cooking, are planned. Activities include candle dipping, quilting, gardening, loom knitting and games.
A free Community Garden Day will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the children’s garden, Main Street Extension, Washington, next to Pennsylvania Trolley Museum. Join master gardeners as they work in the garden. Bring gloves and gardening tools. Children are welcome with their parents.
Home Instead Senior Care, 1500 Oxford Drive, first floor, Suite 150, Bethel Park, will hold Alzheimer’s workshops from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 23 and July 28. The workshop will provide attendees with practical information and resources on Alzheimer’s Disease or other Dementias, techniques to handle challenging behaviors and activities to encourage engagement. Giant Oaks Garden Club will hold a luncheon meeting July 2, followed by a tour of two gardens, including a guided tour of an historical log cabin. The Washington branch of NAACP holds monthly meetings at 7:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at the NAACP office, 68 Highland Ave., Washington.
