Speer – 90 years
William Speer of Houston will celebrate his 90th birthday with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, some of whom are visiting from Florida and Texas, July 3 at Angelo’s Restaurant, Washington.
Mr. Speer was born June 18, 1925, in Oakdale.
His wife is Luella Speer. They were married March 25, 1951.
His children are Susan M. (J. Richard) Connor of Waco, Texas, and William M. (Cynthia) Speer of Houston.
He has five grandchildren, Bethany Connor Dowd, Joshua Connor and Kaitlyn, Kelsey and Matthew Speer, and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Speer retired from Wheeling Wholesale Grocery and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is a member of Covenant Life Fellowship Church and enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren.
