School registration
Avella Area School District will hold kindergarten registration March 26-27. Children must be 5 on or before Aug. 31 to enter kindergarten. Bring the following documents: a birth certificate issued by the Bureau of Vital Statistics; immunization records for DTP-4, polio, measles, mumps and rubella, hepatitis B and chicken pox; completed health history form; and proof of residency. Any parent registering a child who requires specific restrictions involving custody or guardian issues must present an official court order. If you are new to the district, register with the township in which you reside. Children will be assessed for development, reading placement, speech and vision.
